من الكتب الواجبة قراءتها Mandatory reading…

كتاب من أفضل ما قرأته في موضوع التطرف، متناولًا الإصرار العنيد للتفسيرات الخوارجية المغلوطة للقرآن والسنة التي لا تلبث أن تظهر وتعاود الظهور علينا كل فترة وفي غياب معرفتنا وذاكرتنا للتاريخ.

الكتاب ليس قراءة نقدية في التطرف كما يعرفه الغرب (فالتطرف عند الغرب يعني فقط أن تكون مسلمًا)، ولكنه يدور حول مختلف أشكال التطرف حسب توصيفها الفعلي في الشريعة الإسلامية.

ويتناول المؤلف التطرف في علاقته بالمجتمع، وفي علاقته بالحكومة، وفي علاقته بالجماعات الإسلامية وكذلك تطرفنا الشخصي فيما يتعلق بأنفسنا… الخ، مع إشارات هامة من السلف وأمثلة تاريخية.

والكاتب يستخدم مجموعة التكفير والهجرة المصرية كنموذج للمجموعة التي تجسد أخطاء عقائدية متطرفة، ويقدم تحليلات واسعة من المنشورات والبيانات الخاصة بهم. بصراحة أجد أن الكثير منها يشبه بشكل مذهل البيانات والعقليات التي نراها في المجموعات المتواجدة حاليًا.

أوصيكم بشدة بقراءة هذا الإسهام الذي لا يقدر بثمن في طريق الفهم الإسلامي الصحيح، بل قد أذهب إلى أبعد من هذا وأزعم أن قراءته تعتبر واجبة.

This is the best book I have ever read on the topic of extremisim; the stubborn persistence of Khawarij-type mis-interpretations of the Qur’an and Sunnah that appear and reappear among our Ummah in the absence of knowledge and memory of our history.

This is not a critique of extremism as it is defined by the West (which, for them, means just being Muslim), but rather it is about the various forms of extremism actually codified as such in the Shari’ah.

The author deals with extremism in relation to society, in relation to government, in relation to Islamic groups, extremism related to oneself, and so on.; with important references from the Salaf and historical examples.

He uses the Egyptian Takfir wal Hijrah  group as a sort of archetype of a group embodying extremist ideological errors, offering extensive analysis of their publications and statements…and frankly, much of it is uncannily similar to the statements and mentality we see in of the current groups.

I highly, highly recommend reading this invaluable contribution to proper Islamic understanding.  Indeed, I would almost say it is waajib to read it.
